Tools

These notes will make use of the following two tools

• 3D Studio Max (This is the main tool)

• Adobe Photoshop (Used for creating textures)

As a student, you can get a free education license for 3DS Max from autodesk. Be very very careful about what version you are getting.

• there is a free 30 day license and a free student license... The thirty day trial license is free for anyone. The student license requires proof that you are a current student but it doesn't have a 30 day limit.

• The course is more than 30 days so you absolutely need to get the student version

The education license does require some extra steps so you should get started on the approval process immediately.
